Mentor Harbor Yachting Club Crow's Nest Camp

The Legacy Continues.

For four generations, MHYC has carried on deep traditions and a ton of fun with our Crow's Nest Camp and our Swim Team.

Crow's Nest Camp is an unparalleled summer experience, instilling a love of the water, a solid understanding of sailboat, powerboat, swimming skills and safety, wind and weather. Our old-school traditions have stood the test of time, including friendly competitions on and off the water for all ages, an East Beach sleepover, a formal awards banquet, and a Race Team boasting a long line of competitive sailors representing MHYC in I-LYA regattas. Our main goal is FUN! Campers don't have to be competitive – they just need to love playing on and in boats of all types – sail, power, SUP, kayaks, etc. You don't need to own a boat or have boating experience to join us, but you'll quickly see why our campers choose to come back every summer, and many of them become counselors!

MHYC campers make friends for life, spending their summer days enjoying the Club's amazing amenities. We provide professional supervision, coaching and instruction from certified instructors on land, on Lake Erie and our private beach, and in the Club pool. We have expanded our flexible camp options, ranging from half days to full days, 1 to 5 weeks. For kids who want to compete, our race team runs from May through August. After registration closes, campers will receive a detailed handbook, including a calendar, policies, parent days, an invitation to our annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser, awards banquet, and more!

This year, we are once again privileged to host a USA Junior Olympics Sailing Festival and Skill Builder Clinic from June 30-July 1. Cheer on MHYC Junior Race Team sailors as we compete with kids from the U.S. off the West Beach, with awards around 4pm on Sunday. It will be a great way to kick off summer!

Swimming our way into the top half of our swim team league, our Club's merged swim team with Quail Hollow Country Club, “MHQH”, has provided a deeper set of competitors and a cross-section of friendships. We continue that this year and we need increased representation! Camper swim team practices will be scheduled during camp. Evening weeknight swim meets are always exciting and fun to cheer on our kids.

There is no better way to instill a love of the water than Crow's Nest Camp at MHYC
